The Non-Violent Crisis Intervention focused on training service workers to be able to prevent, de-escalate and provide safety to any situations that may include a violent or out of control person. At Greater Heights Learning Academy we happen to have a certified instructor who was able to provide optional training for those who wished to take it.
The training was divided into an online portion and an in-person portion. Online we were able to get the introductory section of the Non-Violent Crisis Intervention program where we learnt key words, some strategies and more. After passing the short quiz at the end of the online portion we met at school on a weekend to complete the in-person portion. This is the most important part of the training. We were also able to practice some of the physical approaches there are in the Non-Violent Crisis Intervention handbook.

What I learnt from this experience is that we should always try to take on opportunities to learn more skills that will allow us to be better people and workers. This training was optional and it had a separate fee we had to pay, but I am so glad I was given the opportunity to take it and practice these skills.
The Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training session was extremely beneficial for me because I got to learn a lot about
